Huh, I actually really liked it - the actors who were selected (I would have assumed they'd go for Hollywood-generic pretty people instead of folks with a bit of character to their faces), the way the trailer was composed, and the re-recording of "Crazy In Love" suckered me right in. If it didn't have an association with such a hilariously idiotic book, I'd think it'd be a decent-if-silly kinky romance flick. The Twilight movies were infinitely better than the books, after all, and though that isn't saying much, I'm actually way more intrigued by this trailer than I ever was by the painfully bad snippets from the book.

Good God, but I'm surprised by myself, haha.

I was actually surprised, I think the trailer did pretty well considering the material it has to work with. If I didn't know about 50 Shades, I don't think the trailer would've appalled me much at all. Some bad dialogue, and cliche characters, but the song was fun and the trailer makes the movie look like a fun sex fantasy.

I AM IN LOVE with the "Crazy in Love" re-recording

Same here, actually.

My initial criticisms of the book were a combination of "too many people are taking this unhealthy fantasy as healthy model of BDSM" and "terrible quality". But in terms of quality, the movie doesn't actually look that bad. I think if I can mindtrick myself into approaching it as a "dark fantasy" rather than a "BDSM ideal", I might actually be able to go watch it and enjoy it.
