Washing less often, or washing with gentler shampoos (ie. sulphate-free) might actually help with the greasiness after a bit. It could be that your scalp is overproducing oils because your shampoo is stripping them too much. If you let it go for a bit with gentler washing, it might calm down.

Keep in mind that if you go sulphate-free you have to go silicone product-free, otherwise you'll end up with serious build-up issues.

that sounds complicated. o.O but it's worth remembering, thanks anon.

I'm actually pretty satisfied with washing it every couple days with standard shampoo as long as I don't let it go any longer.
