Dreamwork's 2D looks completely rotoscoped to me. I know Disney shot reference footage as well, but not seemingly for absolutely everything, like Dreamworks seemed to do.

But really, I'm glad any North American studio is producing 2D for film these days. Rotoscope away, if that's what it takes!

Really? I don't see that at all for Dreamworks (save possibly the horses in Spirit). Now if we're talking Don Bluth's or Ralph Bakshi's films, I can see aaaaallll of the rotoscoping.

Edit: Not to say that I don't think Dreamworks hasn't used rotoscoping, but I don't believe it's at the level of the other two filmmakers.

I'll forgive them, since they used a cat as a reference model for Toothless.

Now I must laugh at myself, b/c I was thinking of Anastasia in particular, when I wrote that comment, and Anastasia was done by Bluth at Fox. Oops! In that case, it's been years since I watched one by them, and I concede the argument to you. *bows*

Aaah it's cool. I've mixed up animated films/studios before. :) I completely agree with you about Anastasia. They rotoscoped the hell out of that one.
