...I actually like the desert sections. I know they weren't 'fun' in the traditional sense, but even Nate getting lost, wandering the desert and passing out, all that, I found it engaging. And the game was beautiful, holy shit.

The overarching story wasn't as good as Uncharted 2's, but I liked how much more personal Uncharted 3 felt (with Nate and Sully's back-story, and Nate and Elena's relationship) and thought the gameplay was still topnotch. (Even if there were too many enemies. There are always too many enemies in this series.)

Yeah, definitely agree on the beautiful bit. It was absolutely stunning. Hahah I don't know about engaging though, damn.

I have mixed feelings about Drake's backstory reveal. His relationship with Sully is touching, but them stripping away the mystery as to whether or not he was actually a descendent of Sir Francis Drake was a bad move, imo. I would have preferred they left it ambiguous (and this way it makes Drake seem like even more of a cheerful murderous sociopath hahaha).

Did you not like the bit with the horses? I don't see people mention that much, but that was one of my favorite sections in any of the Uncharted games. (That and jumping from jeep to jeep...was it in 2?)

Ah, see, the Sir Francis Drake thing didn't bother me because I never believed him in the first place. I see how that could irritate people, and why you would want it ambiguous in the first place, but it wasn't a big deal to me. (The murderous sociopath thing...tbh I just think of it as 'it's a video-game' and leave it at that. Most video game characters fit that description if you think of them in those terms.)
