Andrej Pejic just came out as transgender. She's physically male, but was extremely beautiful and feminine looking, and I was always in awe of how she was breaking gender boundaries and so on. I knew that she had said before she doesn't care about gender and people can consider her whatever they want, but I thought it was so cool that a guy was in the position Andrej was in. Now that she's confirmed she identifies as a woman, I just... am so much less interested, borderline disappointed. I totally support her and everything, and good for her, really, but I just was so fascinated by the concept of a beautiful guy doing modeling in both men's and women's shows. And, well, a guy being that beautiful in a stereotypically feminine way in the first place.

/bad opinion because Andrej is still breaking all sorts of stereotypes, and as a trans woman deserves support and encouragement.

I'm not familiar with Andrej Pejic, but it sounds like it would've been very progressive if they continued to live without gender labels. But ultimately would be confusing since we live in a male or female world. I guess eventually she felt like she needed to choose a side, which is kinda unfortunate.

Me too, anon. I thought it was so great to see a guy who was so comfortable with being androgynous and even reveling in it because that's such a rare thing.
