People make that argument, and someone talks about how it's not necessary or unsanitary or whatever.

Fact is, nudity makes people uncomfortable. Yes, the baby has to eat and no, I don't think you should be forced to do it in a bathroom stall or something, but for fuck's sake, the world doesn't revolve around you and your child. If the baby doesn't like the blanket, then plan ahead for that situation. Pump for a bottle, or if the baby doesn't like a bottle, make other arrangements. People are allowed to be uncomfortable, and flopping your tit out in their face while you scream at them about it being "natural" and "beautiful" isn't going to change their minds.

Bottom line, if more people felt like they should be considerate to others instead of the world catering to them, a lot of tension would cease to exist.

Eh, people talking loudly on phones makes me uncomfortable but I don't expect people to conform to what my dislikes are. And besides, it's usually discreet and doesn't directly harm anyone. Being in the same space as a mom to breastfeed her kid is hardly having the world revolve around them.

I think it just depends on the time and place. I usually don't have a problem if a woman wants to breast feed. But I would if she was doing it while I was eating in a restaurant. It's disrespect to the other patrons who want to enjoy their meal. But in the middle of a park? IDGAF. Same could be said for talking on cell phones. If you're on a bus, IDGAF. If you're talking in a theater during the movie, I care. There's a line between doing what you want and being respectful to others around you.

Being discreet is just absolutely 100% fine with me. It's the moms that think that because God gave them breasts that make milk their baby drinks then they're allowed to let it hang out wherever that piss me off. People talking loudly on phones piss me off too. I call my SO when I'm on the bus on the way home so he can meet me at the station to drive me the rest of the way, and I speak as little as I can and hang up as soon as possible so I don't disturb anyone. It's rude otherwise. And I guess I'm in the internet minority when I act that way. I dunno.

Seems to me that the considerate thing to do would be to let the mother feed her child in peace instead of gawking at her like a tourist and then complaining that you don't like what you're staring at. Most women are fairly unobtrusive about nursing -- unless you're seriously fucking scrutinizing the process, you'll probably see more tit on display walking down the street in the summer.

Bottom line, if fewer people felt like it was the rest of the world's job to keep them from looking at things that might make them feel uncomfortable, a lot of tension would cease to exist.

What makes you think I'm gawking? I don't care about looking at tits, but that's the fucking point. I DON'T WANT TO LOOK AT TITS. I don't want to see dicks, asses, balls, tits, vaginas, or anything else that would get you arrested for indecent exposure. Fuck, I don't even particularly like it when guys take their shirts off, half because I'm super jealous they get to because it generally means it's hot as shit outside, and half because they're usually sweaty and nasty and I don't want to think about that.

All that to say that if a mom is breastfeeding under a cover of some kind, I really could not be bothered to care less. It's the harpies that flop a tit out in public and then get butthurt when people GLANCE at them because HOLY SHIT NAKED TIT OVER THERE WTF DID I JUST SEE THAT FUCK LOOK AWAY that piss me right the fuck off.

But you go on being edgy and copying my last statement because you think the world owes you something. Guess what, nobody does. People on phones in public spaces, people texting while driving, people having loud conversations, and women who think it's their God-given right to feed their offspring in my face are all on my shitlist equally. I don't invade your life without your consent, I'd appreciate it if you'd back the fuck out of mine.
