How do you know they're concentrating all their energy in one fandom though? They may just be using different platforms to interact with their fandoms of choice. At the moment, for example, I have three big obsessions:

-Star Trek
-Star Wars
-Spec Ops: The Line

I use Tumblr for Star Trek, Jedi Council Forums for Star Wars, and for Spec Ops: The Line…well…I largely dig through archives for stuff to read since the fandom is pretty dead.

Just seems like an odd assumption to make unless someone states outright that a specific fandom is the ONLY one they're currently interested in.
