The Witcher 3. Looks worlds better than DA:I

excited for sims 4

ofc I'm not gonna buy it, not with EA's stellar reputation... I'll just download it and if it delivers even 50%, I'll consider buying it

I might give Dragon Age: Inquisition a try. I didn't like the earlier games that much but I enjoyed Mass Effect 2 and 3.

also really looking forward to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Civilization: Beyond Earth, Bayonetta 2, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

and Assassin's Creed Unity can go fuck itself, byeeee

I'm hoping for some great things with Civ: Beyond Earth. The demos they showed at E3 looked really interesting. Especially with the affinities.

I'm absolutely desperate for Monster Hunter 4G to finally drop on the North American market. Everything about it looks so cool. Plus Tigrex is back, and with a subspecies at that! Ugghh and the Charge Blade and Insect Glaive look amazing, I can't wait to play around with them.

Assassin's creed comet.
Unity is for when I get the systems needed.

Comet?.. Is that an IOS game or something? Haven't heard of it.

I think it's for the previous gens (PS3, X360) and involves Adewale.
elaminator: (Assassin's Creed: Black Flag (Mary))

Re: Games you're excited for

[personal profile] elaminator 2014-07-27 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, I loved Adewale (he was WAY more likable than Edward) and would totally play this, but for fucks sake... an Anne/Mary game would've been so much cooler. I hope they one day do something with those two, but most likely they won't because they'll move onto other things.

It's apparently a given that it'll be a continuation that Black Flag so I'm still hoping as that will be glorious.
I also forgot No Mans Sky and Half life 3 (a man can dream...)

Black Flag spoilers

I'm trying to avoid most Inquisition news so when I get to play (which might be a bit seeing as I usually play DA on computer and my current one wouldn't run it) I won't be too overhyped or disappointed if BioWare leaves out features I think sound cool. I have issues with both DA2 and ME3, so if Inquisition doesn't impress me I might not be giving BioWare any money for a while. (From what I have seen, it does look pretty good. Not sure about some of the character designs, but I guess change is difficult. It's the actual gameplay and story that worry me the most though, so hopefully they deliver on that.)

I'm most looking forward to The Rise of the Tomb Raider. The first game was surprisingly solid, fun, and engaging, so if the second is similar in quality it'll be a great time.

Other than that, I want Halo 5 but am not keeping up with it (I don't want to buy an Xbox One, grumble), and I think Sunset Overdrive looks amazing but again with the Xbox One.

Bayonetta 2!... But again, I'll have to watch a walkthrough of that because I'm not buying a Wii U.

I feel so bad for Bayonetta 2, it would be amazing on PC and make more money than being stuck on the Wii U alone, but the developers have no interest in porting it, and Nintendo wouldn't take kindly to it at all. I mean, I'm glad Nintendo funded it at all, but like you said, most people who'd play a game like Bayonetta don't own and never plan to own a Wii U.

Re: Games you're excited for

Haha, basically yes. I grew up with Nintendo so it isn't like I have anything against them, but if I was going to buy a console it would be one of the other two; Nintendo doesn't have a lot of properties I'm dying to get my hands on right now. And as much as I love Bayonetta... The only way I would buy a Wii U is if it was extremely cheap (like $60, $80 or something), so that's many years down the road.

It's great that Nintendo funded it, so people have the option at least, but I doubt it's going to sale well on that platform.

And frankly, Bayonetta is one of the few games that I play just for the enjoyment of gaming; most games interest me because of the story and cast, and the game play is certainly a part of that, but not necessarily the main event. Bayonetta is meant to be played, though; thinking of watching it is so disappointing.

That's what happened to me with the PS3, the first Bayonetta was only one of like four games I wanted on that console, so I put off buying it for years until the used models were cheap enough. I might buy a used Wii U for Bayonetta 2 in like, 2016, lol. And yeah, that's really true, I tried to watch a playthrough and I just couldn't do it, the story pales in comparison to playing it yourself, like with any good hack'n'slash.

Waiting sucks, but if you don't have a decent selection of games you're interested in its the smart choice. I was lucky enough to have a 360 when the game was released, so once I tried a demo of it I was sold; immediately went out and bought it. It was well worth the price!

I might pick it up as well, but yea, it won't be anytime soon. Arg.

Hack and slash, games over 12 or so hours, or anything where you need to make lots of choices (ala BioWare) is no fun to watch others play, imo.

I'm interested in how Maxis makes Sims 4 sims more depthful; may buy it when it comes out, but idk. Interested in more details on Mass Effect 4, hopefully the combat (and multiplayer) will be as fun as they were in 3, just not with dumb leveling up of stuff in multiplayer that 3 had. Sorta interested in Destiny, although I only have a PC, so luckily I get to wait to see if it's good or not. Not sure what else really, sorta looking for a good MMO and was thinking about waiting for that new Everquest MMO, but I hear very little about it.

Both the upcoming Tomb Raiders. Pokemon Omega Ruby. I'm...cautiously looking forward to DA:I. I'm going to wait and see what the reviews are like, and it they're disappointing, I'm just going to play DA:O again.

Practically beside myself waiting for Inquisition - I hope they use this extra month of dev time to really polish it up and make it shine. Probably the only game I will ever buy full price.

I was excited for GTA5 PC but I think I'm approaching critical burnout and I don't care anymore. So I guess I'm just excited for the rest of the Dark Souls 2 DLC and the last episode of The Walking Dead Season 2.

Too many that I've had to apologize to my wallet multiple times.

- Super Smash Bros
- Fantasy Life
- Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright
- Alien Isolation
- The Evil Within
- Civilization: Beyond Earth
- Sims 4

I'm interested in the Batman Arkham series, but I'm going to wait and see how Arkham Knight is.

About the only one I'm mildly excited for is Pillars of Eternity, because Obsidian hasn't screwed up the plot-heavy RPG yet.

I have already paid off my Sims 4 and am debating whether I really want to put the money out for the special Sims merchandise mouse.

Due to buying and playing Dragon Age: Origins not that long ago, I am very hopeful for DA:I. I also have it on order. I hope the story for it is good, though I need to get my butt into gear again and finish Awakening and get through DA2. Ideally, I would like to have at least one play-through of DA2 done by the time I start playing DA:I.
