Not OP, but I write fanfic for me, because I enjoy it, because I have a story I want to tell about the characters. I *post* fics because I want feedback. And yes, I'm even fine with negative feedback - I've received a few negative reviews and I'm okay with them even if I don't agree. But I do hope to get a reaction from my fics.

If all I ever received was dead silence, I'd keep writing, but I wouldn't bother posting, because I'd presume there's no interest.

I think what's irking people is the quota - stated or unstated. But whatever - different people need different motivation and at least they're not being obnoxious about it.
