Please don't tell people why they should write. Let them decide for themselves if they want to write and accept that it's their choice and it's got nothing to do with you or anyone else.

people can do whatever they want. i even said it's not wrong to want/need validation or to write or any other reason than personal passion. i just think putting a quota on the commentary or praise you get before you keep writing necessitates a deeper look into your motives. not posting your work as a result of a perceived lack of reader interest is one thing, and i get that personally because something similar has happened to me (though it was a combination of things). but not writing at all is perplexing to me, and it actually does seem to have something to do with other people. in fact it seems like to op, it depends entirely on other people. that's not an ideal position to put yourself in, where your potential readers have that degree of power over you.

You're assuming that OP isn't going to write anymore. All OP said was that s/he doesn't post until they get X number of reviews, which throws all you "EXAMINE YOUR BRAIN! YOU THINK DIFFERENTLY FROM ME!" out the window.

And frankly, who's to say that your response is more emotionally healthy than OP's? You, obviously, but I think we can agree that yours is a biased opinion. And it's not like you know what's going on in OP's life or where s/he is in their development.

youre taking my comment far too personally, imo, and youre twisting my words to boot. op and you and everyone else can do whatever they want. im only giving my perspective, and im not making it out to be an objectivity either way. im not being hostile or unreasonable so i dont see why your emotional response is warranted.
