In general, I'm the same, because if I didn't want everyone to be in character, then I wouldn't be reading fanfiction.

I have occasionally kept reading when a smutty fic turned out to be so incredibly OOC, it became hilarious, like when both characters have extreme and conveniently complementary kinks that just come out of nowhere and they're so matter-of-fact about it.
