It takes so damn long. I want to be able to, I don't know, telepathically beam the idea at the page, instead of spending hours wrestling with words to make them do the thing, tell the story. I actively lose time when I'm writing, so that I look up four hours later with a backache and four thousand words of splurged gibberish needing fixing.

I mean, it works. I get there in the end. But I wish there was a way that didn't take so long and didn't involve so much back cramps afterwards.
