Ugh, while I've never come across surprise!mpreg, I can sympathize. Stumbled on many a fic without warnings for stuff that should probably be warned for, like rape.

I hate this. Most of all when you go and tell the author (nicely, even, like "look, could you please maybe tag this because people might want to avoid it") and they get all snappy and say they won't because ~it's a spoiler for the story~. No, fuck you, tag your shit. It's not hard. You don't have to write who gets pregnant, or who gets raped. It's not a spoiler.
