Yeah, but only a proper ending in every third story. That was the only thing I didn't like about the series.

If you liked the movie, you'll love the books: they are standalone novels but they are short enough to be easy reads.

Note that they are like separate chapters of one huge novel, so you'll want to read them in publication order.

Bonus: the Aubrey/Maturin series is so popular and respected that these books are widely available from all public library systems. They are also available as audiobooks!
