Meh. Not everybody is suited for college, and if you're not then you really shouldn't go because you'll have all the debt and nothing to show for it. I have people in my family who didn't go to college and work, even own their own businesses, and are extremely well-read. But, eh, you can't help what you're attracted to I guess.

It's a personal taste, and I never doubted it was shallow. From my experience people who only have a high school diploma spend most of their free time drinking, have no ambitions, don't really exceed in the work force, and/or participate in illegal activity. This of course doesn't ring true for everyone, but I've met too many sad excuses where it's an instant boner killer.

It doesn't ring true for most people, and you probably have some pretty heavy confirmation bias going there.
