While the books show wonderful relationships, it's possible that PoB wasn't all that awesome a person - there's the question of when and why he left his first wife, and whether their disabled child had died at that point or was still alive. He was certainly secretive, which perhaps points to a less than happy interpretation.

Not being a homophobe doesn't automatically equal being a wonderful and moral person,and treating close family members less than well doesn't mean you are one or more likely to be.
Your comment makes no sense and is just an unpleasant character-smearing attempt unrelated to the argument.

My comment related to the awesomeness of meeting him. My view is that if he did abandon his wife and disabled child, it would not be awesome to meet him.
