Any incest, any age differences.

-Sterek. I wouldn't hate it so much if it weren't for the fandom, I'd typically just ignore it. BUT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE. How is it the default pairing?? A common pairing, I get. But default? How? And how is it the pairing that fans want queer representation on? Do they not see that its amount to anything on the actual show is like zero? Ship and kink on it all you want, but in the canon, it's nothing.

-Meg/Castiel. I don't even have any explanation for this (and it's not because of other ships). I just really, really hated it.

-Blair/Chuck. UHGGGGGGGGG.

-Snape/any of the children. Explanation not necessary.

-Levi/Eren. Again, a prevalence thing. I'd usually just ignore it, but again, impossible. People like what they like and if it's a kink, then fine. I just stay way from fandom anyway. -shrug-

-Matt/Mello. Again, fandom is the cause. WTF made it so popular. Matt showed up for 5 seconds.

-Gareki/Nai - Nai is like a little kid, I can't understand how you ship him. He seems soooo young to me and it creeps me out.

-Rei/Nagisa - Again, mostly the fans. It turned from a "Oh I like their friendship only, it's cute" into active dislike. I always saw them as just friends, and then the fandom was all "IF YOU DON'T SEE THAT THEY'RE IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER YOU'RE DELUSIONAL" "THEY ARE SO CANON" "MARRIED" (I know, normal shipper phrases, but so many of it, and so much ship superiority and bashing of other ships with those two characters...) I hate that the fans soured their friendship to me.

Shoichi/Byakuran - No explanation, really. I just go "NOPE."

Furuya/Miyuki - Just gives me a "HELL NO" reaction. (Romantically)

Aomine/Kise - Same as above.

Ohno/Nino
Akanishi/Kamenashi
Nakamaru/Kamenashi
Larry Stylinson

So much this on the Rei/Nagisa.

Shame. I really like Nagi/Rei as friends or boyfriends but I get you on canon shouters. I hate that shit. It turns you off fast if you're ambivalent or slightly negative.

Snape/any of the children.

yeahh, I'm not so into that either. I can deal with it if they're aged up, but when they're still in school or school age? no.

Oh, Meg/Castiel, I am with you. I think part of it is just that it was introduced in such a fan service-y way that I just can't. Ugh. It makes me angry even thinking about it. Plus I feel like there wasn't even an attempt to explain why Castiel wouldn't have a problem with macking on a demon, even though he's an angel.

Any age difference? So the characters in a ship have to be the exact same age?

Okay, well I should have elaborated on that, lol!

I meant larger age differences, especially of the teen/adult variety. If they're both over 20 I can tolerate larger age differences though. (As long as there's no power imbalance, and they treat each other as equals)

Some of this made me laugh, but I agree *so much* on Sterek, Anon. I didn't see it in canon, have no idea what people saw that made them ship so hard, and I barely tolerate either character.

Lesse, of the other ships you mentioned, I like Matt/Mello. Because Near/Mello is the other ship that concerns Mello and the idea of Near in a romantic relationship made me go "Nope". And I find Matt/Mello aesthetically pleasing.

I don't ship Castiel with anybody, so I can agree on that. I'm okay with AoKise, but I basically hate Aomine so it's not like I'll go around looking for fics or anything. I think Kise can do better, though.

Ohno/Nino is strictly platonic in my head, so ditto.
I used to ship AkaKame hard, but that was before Akanishi showed the world his douchebaggy side.
Nakamaru is darling and I'm not shipping him with anybody.

The rest I don't know about, so those are the only ones I can comment on.

Sterek is the one of the biggest mysteries of the fandom universe to me.

I pretty much agree about Near too. I don't really have any ships in Death Note TBH. I read L/Light but none of it worked for me so I stopped.

+Yes to Johnny's pairs. Ohmiya is 100% platonic. That is it. I can't ship Jin with anyone, especially since I got into the group after he left so Idgaf about him really. And that Akame is 90% of K-T fics pisses me off.

And Nakamaru is my fav ever, I love him, and I can't ship him with Kame, romantically is ew. His popular pair is Ueda though which is another 1000% strictly platonic. I'm left with Taguchi and Tanaka Koki. I don't mind Nakamaru/Taguchi because I like the awkward, distant & dork vibe, and I don't know what to feel about Koki anyone due to recent events. -shrug-

Agreed on the age differences (also in that it's fine once they're both well and truly adults, AND it's not something where the older character has known the younger one since they were a kid or teenager). Of the ones you listed, the only one I'm familiar with is Snape/any of the kids, but that is a MASSIVE hell no for me.

And I'm in Pokemon fandom, so there is a fucking lot of adults being paired with kids or teens and just. Ugh. No. Fuck no. THE most common pairing for my favourite character is with him paired with the female protag who is basically his STUDENT and just... no, gross, stop, that's horribly exploitative and abusive, I don't care if you're going, "Oh, but she could be eighteen!", she's still way younger than him AND there's a massive power imbalance, please go away forever.
