Re: Hurt/Comfort (sort of inspired by #6)
I don't like accident fics, wilderness survival, etc.
I LOVE violent hurt, especially with a character being intentionally targeted by a bad guy or hurt in the line of duty/in a heroic fashion/etc.
I like comfort to be more of the "make it suck a little less" or "hold him and stay with him while he suffers" type of comfort rather than the "make it all better" type of comfort. I don't need to see the character completely heal, just a promise that s/he will get better and the comforting character will stick by them is enough.
I have a HUGE fondness for hurt/comfort where the hurt character really should be taken care of better/go to a therapist, but due to outside circumstances (really pressing need to keep working on a problem, social stigma, need to keep it a secret, doesn't have the time or luxury or money to do it), they can't get professional help and have to rely on their friend's comfort instead.
I love emotional h/c, although preferably stuff that isn't just rehashing issues that were already resolved in canon. Unresolved problems are the best.
I don't mind AT ALL if it's cheesy, melodramatic, stupid, nonsensical, or really crappily written, as long as it's in-character and the emotions are genuine and heartfelt (it's very easy to tell when they're not.)
