I really enjoyed it. Probably in my top three or five when it comes to Marvel films. I went in knowing I was going to love Rocket, but came out with Groot as my favorite. I love characters that can do a lot by not using a lot of words yet are able to emotionally connect with me. I thought Groot was so perfectly done by all involved, the animators, the writers, and Vin Diesel's voicework (and he basically said the same words over and over). I wasn't too sure about the rest of the Guardians. I thought I was going to find Star-lord annoying, but Chris Pratt did a great job (though it was kind of distracting when he sounded a bit like Emmet from The Lego Movie, but not in an annoying way). I was worried that Gamora was going to be nothing more than Quill's love interest, but she was too clever to fall for that. I hope they don't become involved in future projects. I would hate that. Drax surprised me a lot. I thought he was going to be the throwaway character I wouldn't care for, but I really loved his delivery and character arc.

The only thing that I was disappointed with was the bad guy. I loved the character design of Ronan, and I thought Lee Pace did well with what was given to him, but Ronan's plans and arc was more or less the same as the bad guy from Thor: The Dark World. =( Marvel needs to step it up with their villains.
Wait, there was another second disappointment: End credits scene. =( I feel like Marvel wants to show us as little as possible because they don't want to reveal to WB/DC too much of what they have. Batman v Superman is a pretty heavy contender now, I assume.

But overall, I really liked this film. I'd go watch it again.

Psssh. It's gonna suck balls. BvS can't even get wonder woman's armor right. No way this will be good.

Yeaaa, Marvel is bad at writing villains other than Loki. Most their villains are forgettable and underwhelming. (I wish they would spend more time on them in the future, because right now I feel very meh about the prospect of Loki showing up every other film because they don't know how to write anyone else and want to keep the fans happy.) IMO Nebula was more interesting than Ronan, but she had very little to work with and I think a lot of the feelings I had for her came from the prequel comic.

And yes, Groot was incredible! What an adorable gentle giant he was. I loved that bit where the group is having a conversation and Rocket is responding to him, lol. Groot doesn't need more than three words, Rocket has him figured out!

hough it was kind of distracting when he sounded a bit like Emmet from The Lego Movie, but not in an annoying way

So I wasn't the only one going "I'm listening to Wreck it Ralph arrest Emmet right now this is so surreal."
