PLEASE tell me there's actual Neuer/Lahm fic? That would make my day.

I came across a bunch of German ones - not sure if there are any in English though, sorry

German's fine! I generally prefer the distance an English fic provides, since it is RPS, but in this case I'd definitely try.

Would you also know any Lahm/Schweinsteiger ones? Or in general any fics with Bayern players you can recommend.

Schweinski make it so easy.

Hup Holland Hup!

I have no comment about the shipping, sorry. I just enjoyed how far they got this year.

I spent the crucial weeks hanging out with a Dutch girl. Now I wish I remember the songs she taught me.

as a dutch native speaker, that dutch quote makes no sense. 'jij en ik' = singular you and i, but 'wij doen dit met zijn allen' refers to a group, the whole team. /nitpicky

I don't speak Dutch, but maybe it refers to the goalkeepers as a team, and that both of them together play for the whole Dutch team?

(Anonymous) 2014-08-04 08:23 am (UTC)(link)
ayrt

no, it's more like separate statements. like the first sentence is about how the both of them are a team (it literally says: we're a team, you and i). the second part says "we're doing this together as a group". if it had been about just the two of them, there's a different word for it ("samen", in case you're interested :) ).

so they're both nice statements, just the latter isn't slashy - well, unless it's some kind of team involvement ;)

1. I didn't make that quote up, I don't speak Dutch really. Apparently it's what Krul told Cillessen after the quarter final and I thought that was a very beautiful thing to say.

1. But that's what I meant to refer to: I was very impressed by the whole Dutch team and how far they got - not necessarily in terms of footballing quality but with regard to team spirit; it was a fantastic mix of experienced and young players. And I doubt the goalkeeper substitution would have worked as well in any other team.
With a bit of luck they could have made it to the final (but that's ok, beating Argentina was too good).

oh I know, I was just being nitpicky, it was a really nice thing to say and I was very proud of the team :)
