I'm the same as you.

I've been wondering lately if people in their 20s get mistaken for teenagers so much because the people mistaking us don't know any real teenagers, only TV teenagers, who are usually played by people in their 20s (like Secret 6). We don't really look like teenagers, we look like people who play them on TV.

That wouldn't surprise me. I often expect kids I see to be a couple years younger than they actually are, and I think it's because I'm not around actual kids much.

I remember once I had to visit the grounds of a high school for a work thing and I remarked to my co-worker that I hopped no one thought we were truant students, ha ha. Then we saw some actual students and I was all "whelp, apparently there's no way that's gonna happen!"

I've thought it was because people in their 20s nowadays act younger than the previous generation's 20-somethings. The mainstream of the internet has sort of given the current 20-somethings a pass to act like kids without being scrutinized too much by their peers. So, it can be difficult to gauge someone's age based on how they act. I've also ran into the opposite, where someone I thought was in their late-20s based on the their behavior was actually in their teens.
