I like non-con that actually is non-con and isn't romanticized. I don't find it hot in the sexual sense. I like reading fics where characters are raped, where there are realistic consequences, and then hopefully at least a start at healing. I'm more into coercion by threats because my biggest thing is fics where the character submits in order to protect others. But I'll take physical force too.

Rape as love or fics where non-con happens and the author actually thinks it is consensual repulses me. And fics where the rape is written in such a way that it is supposed to be hot is not my thing, though I don't hate it as long as the author acknowledges that it is rape.

Yeah, I don't even like non-con all the much. I just like the aftermath. It presses my hurt/comfort buttons.

I usually want graphic, and often combined with torture. I want the comfort to be earned. And it hits some sort of cathartic button for me when characters survive really horrible stuff.

I get this. I have this thing about surviving horrible shit, but It's hard to describe/express it to others. I sort of love humans for being so resilient in many ways.

Sacrifice is also a button for me. I get it in scenes like where characters sacrifice themselves so the heroes can accomplish their mission. And where the hero turns themselves into the villain when the villain threatens to kill other people. So when you combine that with the character then surviving horrible stuff and still defeating the villain in the end, it is everything I want in a fic.

Do you have any fav characters/recs for that?

Ack. I'm always bad with links because I never save links. I'll download the fic if I like it, but I don't bookmark things mostly. I used to have links to a lot of Harry Potter ones, but I most of those are gone from the internet and only exist on my hard drive. And plus, I have no time for fic reading right now. I'll look around and see if I can find anything.

No problem, those just sounded like interesting premises to me.
