Lead-up, plot, and characterization are all important to me; I almost never read PWPs unless I know the author or it's been recommended. The actual sex is less important to me than, say, who put the moves on whom and how quickly everyone is with the sex program. The sexual trauma victim is probably not going to be coming on hard to the awkward underage virgin, for example.
