If I had a dollar for every time some anime fanfic was written in English except for throwing in random Japanese words because the author took Japanese 101. It's even worse when they write it in the description with an asterisk and put the English translation at the bottom. I don't care if the character is a kid learning English as a second language, if they just had a three paragraph monologue describing their home life in English there's zero reason to have them suddenly describe the apple they're eating as aka*















*that's Japanese for "red"
