Completely agree, OP.

How sweet. Would you like to have a discussion with me? I watch anime, read classic literature, watch various American TV shows, have a full time job, just completed college, play video games, draw, write, study history, and a heck of a lot of other things as well. Just because someone is into a genre doesn't mean they have no logical thought, which, if I'm correct, is what is being implied here? And if not, then I apologize for being too harsh.

I think that's the OP you're talking to though

Might be. Still, offer stands whether it's the OP or a DA. I've spent too many years of my life listening to people get pigeon holed that I just sort of put myself out there sometimes, because someone has to... I think it's called white knighting here on the net, but I just call it not wanting to sit back and listen to certain things. I'm weird that way.

Nah, you don't have to justify getting annoyed at people being judgmental. For me they're basically white noise by now cause I've heard them so much, but everybody'd have a different reaction to things.

I never heard whiteknighting being used in that context. Usually only in the context of somebody (usually a BNF) wanking/throwing tantrums, some people got upset, friends or 'fans' of said BNF would then whiteknight them by attacking/flaming the upset people on behalf of the BNF.

I suppose it just sometimes bothers me more than others.

No, because you sound completely up yourself.

And yet implying that a group of people shouldn't be given the time of day because they're not smart enough for you is not being arrogant and full of yourself, right? You have a right not to associate with people, of course, but don't expect them to just roll over and say "oh, you're right, I'm an idiot" when it's not true.
