Fuck yeah it's hypocritical. Thirteen and a dwarf besides, against a barrack full of fully grown and presumably vicious guards under his dad's employ. NO mention of Jaime, who also stood by and watched it happen, tho he was pretty good with a sword at the time?

I don't understand the hate Cat gets - tho I severely dislike her blaming a boy for his father's sin of adultery - but there's no reason to throw a thirteen year old under the bus trying to defend her. It just takes a shit all over your stand, OP.

Was Jaime actually there? IIRC he was under the impression she was just going to be paid off and sent away, and didn't actually find out what really happened until well after the fact.

Yes, as far as the reader/viewer knows, Jaime wasn't there at the rape. He was there when Tyrion and Tysha met, and then had to tell Tyrion that it was "all Tywin's plan" and then that she was dead. I think Tyrion would mention it if Jaime was there at the rape; but mostly he resents him for the lies (even though Jaime was either forced to lie, or he didn't know the full truth until years later).

I also think that despite not being present, Jaime's shame at Tyrion and Tysha's experience also ties into that strong anti-rape stance he has in the frickin' books.
