I agree and I was amused a bit by the many comments on youtube playthroughs about WHY WHY YOU BASTARDS if you choose to "kill her" earlier. I understand the moment of it but in the long run she was not raised for that world and since she was pushed into the chaos of it all abruptly, she couldn't cope with it in enough time if she ever could. What did people expect?

Exactly. I feel like they all totally ignored Jane's story about her sister and how it was actually crueler to force her to keep going in a world she wasn't suited for.
