I should have said more in my first comment. I don't think it's wrong to judge based on talent. Contestants SHOULD be judged on their talent and not their backgrounds. But I think it's terrible to refuse to support someone for having a sob story. After all, that's not actually judging based on talent either, is it? It's no different from supporting the person with the saddest background.
