(Anonymous) 2014-08-09 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)nu!Kirk did nothing to gain his authority in XI. All he had was one exceptional display of valor in one crisis situation. That should definitely earn him a medal, but that should not earn him a command position straight out of the academy.
Yep. That was the point at which I gave up on the reboots entirely.
