Starsky & Hutch were actually pretty tame and undated with their fashions, comparatively. Also, the leather jackets. Leather jackets solve everything. Starsky's really battered brown one is basically the best fictional jacket in existence. And so many of the one-shot characters they associated with were dirt-poor and therefore couldn't afford the latest fashions.

You want to see what most people wore in the '70s, check out what Huggy was wearing :) Or the villains in those hideous polyester leisure suits.

Doesn't really stop the fact that they had some pretty good looking clothes at points, although obviously fashionable clothes are different. Not every style in the 70s was a gem, though, I'll grant you that.
