Re: Let's rec smaller-scale, personal sci fi stories

There's a book called PHOBOS, by Ty Drago, set in a future time when Mars has been colonized and research is taking place into setting up stations on one of its moons. A young Martian-born (human) police detective and his deadpan, ass-kicking ex-military female sergeant are sent to investigate a suspicious death at the research station.

I like mysteries better than science fiction and I liked it a lot as a character-driven mystery. I gave my copy to my nephew but I'd like to replace it. I think it's out of print and last I looked there hadn't been a sequel, which made me sad. I was hoping for a series of Martian police procedurals!
