I didn't mind it. Even in FFX, there were NPCs running around in far less clothing (like the guy in assless pants. And the chick in a bikini and boots). I would have minded the short-shorts and so on if they had been used as fan-service, you know, pointed out--panty shots, that sort of thing. Since it was never made a point of, it didn't bother me.

Yeah, and then there's always Rikku... At least Paine had a little more clothing on her. I just think Yuna would've been just as neat in some updated rendition of her old clothes. (There's plenty of fan-service, though. This, most of all. (http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/8664/ffx2yuna2ig.jpg) Which did piss me off. I ADORED Yuna in FFX, because I was so thrilled to play as her for that short period in the game. Having her run in short shorts up through snowy mountains did make me lol, though. :P)

What's wrong with fanservice? If they were scantily-clad dudes girls would be all over it with OMG HAWT but because it's girls then it's OMG NO? I think the outfits in X-2 are gorgeous.

I liked Yuna in X-2 better, though.... this is coming from the OP of 37, which I'm sure completely invalidates my opinion in everyone's eyes anyway.

I'm not saying fanservice is bad. I'm saying I lost respect for Yuna because she became a skank in a span of a sequel simply for fan service.

Btw, scantily clad boys does not a hot man make. Tidus needed more clothes, kthx.

She had to make some huge changes in her life - besides losing Tidus, everything she grew up believing she would do as an adult was over. She wanted to start a new life. A wardrobe change just came with that, as part of her new identity.

It bothers me when people attack characters for not being 'modest' enough. What the hell is wrong with wearing skimpy clothing, anyway? (Yuna =/= skank, no matter what she was wearing in x-2). Yeah, they wanted to appeal to a male audience, but it's not like they were zooming in on Yuna's ass every ten minutes.

I think that's mainly because men don't have the history of being objectified that women do. Also, there's scant and then there's you-designed-this-specifically-to-draw-attention-to-the-body-didn't-you.

(I liked Yuna in X-2! I liked her more in FFX because I admired her quiet strength, but I liked the directions in which X-2 developed her.)
