While no, they're not all that type to a T, the fact remains that pretty much every love interest in every JRPG has a set of very similar traits that link back to that. Superficially speaking, isn't it telling that almost every single one is a healer? Sure, healer does not mean you're weak, blah blah blah, but when you get the same thing again and again you have to wonder about the pattern.

You want good females? Valkyrie Profile, Xenosaga, FFVI, Chrono Trigger/Cross. Three of those series have female protagonists. Pattern, anyone?

24. Interesting. I don't necessarily completely agree, but interesting. I think that a LOT of things screwed the 1980's-90's generation up, though. We're spoiled, arrogant, and believe we PWN entitlement - and not just because of Disney.

41. I like the concept of Twilight, but I just can't get into it. I felt like I was reading Sweet Valley High meets Buffy. I respect that a lot of my friends like it, but I don't get the hype so much. (Though maybe if I try it again, I will. But that's doubtful.)

THANK YOU for approaching it calmly and not jumping down my throat. I think I must have worded the secret badly (or no one's reading the whole thing) because everyone's missing the point or getting really offended, regrettably. Didn't mean to rile so many people up.
But yeah, I agree that it's not the only factor. (Our parents' generation has a lot to do with it, certainly.) But a lot of the people I've seen who feel that way admit to Disney being a strong influence.
