14. I, myself enjoy the show, but I do not ZOMG LOVE IT like many others do. It's very cheesy and I spend more time poking at the plot holes and poor writing than I do praising the series. I'm often afraid to say that the only part of the show that I actually like is Hiro because of people assuming it's only because he's Japanese, but in all honesty, he's the only character who has a decent amount of humour and drama to make the show worth watching at all. I do not encourage people to watch HEROES at all, really. If anyone wants anything super powered, I'd recomend that they pick up some X-Men or Spider-man comics and if they want Sci-Fi, something like Stargate or Farscape would be MUCH more enjoyable.

While I can kind of see your point (see, not agree, I love me some Rinoa and Yuna) and feel bad you've had to repetitively defend it throughout seven pages of comments, I can't help but think you would have been better off not dragging the Nadeshiko concept into the secret to begin with. Without it, you can sort of see a bunch of characters who fit a certain vague stereotype; with it, that's all people zoom in on.

44. You must like some aspect of the canon. Like... the dynamics of those characters you ship, perhaps? Because if not then you're just picking up on fandom cliches and reading fic where the characters' names might as well be pasted on, and uh... Sheep.

Long story short: I fail at making secrets. Secret poorly conveyed message. Was far too easily misinterpreted.

WHAT I MEANT TO SAY: I find the vast majority of healer love-interest characters in JRPGs to be cliched and boring. As a result of the canon relationship boring me, I tend to fall to the old standby of manpr0nz. These two things may or may not be connected in reality and I'm just looking to justify my slashing habits.

If you must attack me, attack me on this and not on that, plz. If there must be more wank, I'd rather it covered some new ground...

You do realize those characters aren't the only females in the game, right? You're allowed to pair the guy of your choice off with other women as well as other men.

And as if the male characters whom those particular females are the love interests of aren't also cliched and boring. As someone else said, you get a choice between loud, hotheaded moron or effeminate angstbunny. A choice of equally vapid cliches =/= interesting character.

Also, why the hell do you need to justify liking slash? Other than "it's hot and turns me on?" I've never understood it. But then, I got into slash when I was way past the tweenybopper infatuation stage of my life, so maybe I missed out on something.

3. Cloak and Dagger FTFW! I just got into Runaways (and I'm a weeaboo that hasn't read American comics as much lately) and I really liked them as characters. They are just too cute together. I'm happy to report, however, that the race issue didn't even occur to me. That's an interesting fetish, to be sure, but a common one.

As someone who has been liking and hyping the show since before it started (but only on a certain forum), I wish I could've converted more people but I just fail at that aspect (it worked somewhat for Mononoke, but seems like Dennou Coil is harder to like - or maybe because Dennou Coil was spread out over so long...)

24. I remember back when The Little Mermaid craze first started. I was in 5th grade at the time, and had read the original fairytale from the library, multiple times, before I ever saw the film. I remember being so pissed off at how much of the story got changed that I ended up doing one of my book reports on the Andersen version.

When I had to present it? The class was horrified. I remember one girl even tried to convince me that Andersen was just jealous of how much everyone liked the movie.

14. I, too, feel that Heroes is vastly overrated! I know a lot of people who are crazy about it though. So I just watch and have fun mocking the stupid bits and admiring the pretty people.

18. I, too, feel that Dennou Coil is vastly underrated! I've tried to get my brother to watch it by describing it as "If Studio Ghibli made Serial Experiments Lain", but so far no luck.

21. I, too, feel that the comic is not as enjoyable as it used to be! However, I don't think that T was "disrespecting the artist" with that storyline. The way I understand it, he asked Ryan Estrada to draw a story that he would add dialogue to. That's not the same as "pasting dialogue on a silent story".
