Excuse me while I find that picture of the, like, fifteen trillion other companions he had and lost before Rose. Romana died in the Time War. He stranded some of his Companions on dying planets. Others went off and got married. The Doctor is no stranger to loss. The fact that he spent an entire season moping about because of Rose is idiotic.

And I repeat: losing someone you love is never easy. So you don't like how long he moped, fine. He has loved all of them. And therefore he grieves them all. What, he should forget about Rose just because of previous losses? "Oh, well, I've done this before no big deal moving on then 8D" Emotions don't work like that.

Yup. Four/Romana shipper too.

I've accepted that the classic Who stayed away from shipping, and that's fine and dandy. Subtext is fun too. But considering the Time Wars and how he (thought he) lost everyone, I think it's appropriate that he latched on to someone very quickly and strongly, given the trauma and loss and loneliness.

Not to mention more appeal to modern audiences.

In the context of who the Doctor is and was, it makes absolutely no sense that he's moping about this one girl, though. (Especially considering the fact that she's not dead.) Hell, he was barely that upset about destroying all of the Time Lords!

I know watching him mope for an entire season and screw over that season's companion didn't appeal to me.
