37. I don't care what they are -- all I know is that Yuna is my strength-spiration. Soft-spoken, demure, but so strong and so capable in spite of it all. I mean, she took down an entire religion! Of course she had to have help -- nobody can do it singlehandedly. And, sure, Tidus was there, but he was just there to help her -- she was the backbone to it all. She was able to go up against incredible odds and face death and possible failure and she did it.

FFX-2 aside, that is. That game made me want to go homicidal on someone.

I'm not saying she's weak. (Gawd I'm starting to feel like a broken record). I'm saying she's a cliche, and a cliche that I don't like.

I liked X-2 better. I swear I'm the only person who did.

... I don't mind if you copypasta (because I really don't feel like going through all the rest of the threads) but why? I mean... is her character type really such a bad thing? I know that I'd love to be like her -- strong without being a bitch and capable without shoving it in anyone's face "HEY EVERYONE, COME AND SEE HOW GOOD I AM," and pretty without having to show off every inch of skin I own aside from tits.

I just don't see how that's a bad thing :\

I enjoyed parts of it, but you know what pissed me off the most about it? HOW I COULD NEVER GET THOSE DAMN TOWERS CONFIGURED >>'

Oh, there's nothing wrong with her, really, it's just that I find all those characters similar, and the cliche is getting old for me.

It upsets me when people say that characters like Yuna show that a woman can be strong while still being feminine instead of "RARGH BUTCH WOMAN". This makes me want to shove Tamora Pierce novels down their throats. There's a happy medium between Ms. Female Bodybuilder and a doormat. -.-; (not that Yuna's a doormat, I'm just exaggerating to make a point).

Videogames just tend to hand us the extreme ends of the spectrum. I just want female characters that are, like, realistic. (Again, I point at Suikoden V. Awesome game.)
