The fact that the vast majority of the people on this comm can't recognize a sweeping cast of sweet, healer-girl love-interest canon sues just boggles me.

Recognizing and disliking a cliche does not make me sexist 'what's wrong with the fandom', and I'm sick of getting attacked for this.

...Also, somewhat amused. Lemmings, lemmings, everywhere, can't be critical of meeediaaa...

Because characters who fight for their kingdom, go against everything they believe in, sacrifice their happiness for others, join the army to prevent an evil plot and help give other heroes emotional strength are canon sues. That's called strong characters. Get it right.

Maybe it's because you're DOING IT WRONG. People like you piss me off. Complain about one cliché and join another. Yeah. REAL effective.

You know what? It's really hard to try and come up with intelligent, thoughtful replies to 'fuck you'. I'm not even sure what your point is anymore, and I kind of feel like a bitch for some of the things I've said in this thread, and I am sorry for offending you in any way but... honestly? I don't understand the level of hostility you seem to have toward me. I want to bite back but I know it'll just make things worse.

Can we just end it marginally peacefully? Please?

My problem is that YOU'RE the cliché slash fan complaining about a cliché to justify something that doesn't need to be justified. People like that bother the hell out of me. I got hostile because I'm so sick of that way of thinking. It wasn't against you personally or anything, so I apologize.

Hate whatever character/character type you want. Just think it through a little more before you sweep them all together in one generalizing statement.

But I'm sure you've been told that already. So I'm done now.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on the first point, then, because I think it's important to understand things like why slash is popular. "I like it because I like it" doesn't fly with me.
