I don't really think Frozen had a good plot, either. Lack of a real, solid antagonist, super simple plot that lacked any kind of "epic" scale, and the most interesting stuff, I think, was underdeveloped. I think it would've been more interesting if they had played up the elements of Elsa being perceived as a monster, that forced Elsa into a more antagonistic role (like I heard was originally planned) - but then I guess the show would've felt even more like Wicked.

Still, I do think it's a good movie, and I don't think it's fair to discount its success in terms of female characters. Yes, there are other movies, and other Disney movies, that to some extent explore female relationships, but there just aren't that many - and certainly not that many with a catchy soundtrack. Frozen was also a massive success in terms of sales, and I think it's always important to remind the movie industry that films featuring female relationships really do have a market. And believe it or not, many kids really haven't seen any movies that star more than one female character, unless it was a movie marketed exclusively toward girls (like a Barbie movie or something).
