That doesn't really count - pretty much every other character that died was brought back as him/herself much sooner than Jean's teenage self, which was last year, so nine years after she died. I think the above reply is more accurate: people are just gonna make the joke because of what happened decades ago even though it's not true anymore.

Yes, others have been brought back sooner, but not with the frequency Jean has been, which tends to stick in people's heads.

That's true, but still, last time she came back from the dead was in the early 90s. It just surprises me how strong the connection is since a lot of comics readers weren't even alive when that happened. Though her most iconic story is a resurrection one, so I guess people just associate with that despite the facts.

No it counts. You can look in an x-men book and see Jean Grey. Alive. How does that not count as being "back?"

Even if it counted, it'd be 9 years dead.

It's just like an alternate reality character, and no one would say a character is alive because they can see a different reality version in the books.

It's not though. I'd agree that didn't count. But this is 616 Jean Grey. Maybe she'll brance if and when she finally goes back to her time, but she was plucked from 616 timeline. Jean Grey was dead. Now Jean Grey is alive and interacting with present day characters. She lives.
