Anon who mentioned rereading the Dragonlance Legends a couple weeks ago. That turned into a hateread and then a "Life's too short; if I need nostalgia I'll just read The Raistlin Chronicles" tossing-the-books-aside.

(Also, I did a little more digging about the "one god ruling over all the realms" thing. Yes it's canon, but it's canon because Tracy Hickman got pissy about writing a non-monotheistic world. He was also hand-wringy about writing Tasslehoff because he couldn't conceptualize a "good" character who's a habitual thief. But all of this annoyed me far less than everyone's insistence that the "basically Back to the Future 2 with magic" time-travel plot of the Legends trilogy was super confusing and nobody ever understood it but Tracy.)
