Some of us just aren't into slash, regardless of fandom, and I think it's unfair to judge anyone for it. It has nothing to do with homophobia (an accusation that has actually been levelled against me in the past). I simply don't find it arousing/titillating, and I don't like the insinuations that as a straight woman, I am somehow required by some unwritten fandom law to like it. Attitudes like that only make me want to outright hate it out of spite instead of being quietly disinterested in it.

Overall, I just don't care much about shipping of any kind regardless of the sex/gender of the people involved. Give me stories where the characters are actually doing interesting things instead of banging each other.

I've been bullied too for not being the slash-obsessed 20-something woman like everyone else I know from fandom. I like male characters but watching them make out does not particularly turn me on, does that make me a monster or something??
