Morel Orel

So Secret 9 got me thinking, who here on F!S has watched Moral Orel , from Adult Swim? On suggestion of some people on a different site I marathoned the entire series a few weeks ago. Like the OP from 9, I'm not an atheist, have not been around a lot of really Christian people, etc. and I'm not sure if I got a lot of what was being said in the show, though I liked it well enough. I guess what I'm asking, besides general opinions about the show, is whether it means more or makes more sense if you have/had a Christian upbringing or been raised in a Christian community.

Had to stop watching it. Too close to home.

Loved Moral Orel. I was so sad when it ended. I was raised Baptist but consider myself monotheist (I guess). The religious themes didn't really bother me. I think because while some were awful people, other were wonderful caring people. So it wasn't like, "All Christians are bad!!!"

Also, it showed that what and who you are born to does not have to define your life.

I enjoyed Morel Orel even if significant portion of the final season made me cry. As some who grew up in a family of fundamentalists and had a parent with a drinking problem, a lot of the show was really relatable

lol That freaking show. You don't have to get the Biblical references to understand it's a pretty dark and cynical take on prescriptive morality. Although I imagine if you do it's probably even better.
