I thought Being Human was going to be basically a dark comedy show, and I thought Buffy was a flaky show, basically a typical teen show with vampires.

The movie was the entire reason I had no interest in watching the show when it came out. It hasn't until several years in that I caved to peer pressure and discovered how much fun it was.
