That's an easy pit to fall into, and I'm sorry you feel like a burden.

I know it sounds super lame and presumptuous whenever someone tells you, "but everyone has skills and neato qualities! you have them too! :D", but it's actually kind of true. The catch is that you have to develop and work on them just like most everyone else has. Except for people who are born awesome and godly, like me, you have to learn and work toward that. I honestly think if you have the means, try out different volunteer opportunities. Put in a couple hours a week for a non-profit you like, sign up to help out for a local anime/comic convention, a fair, festival, anything.

Obviously I can't guarantee you'd feel wanted or useful, since that's all to do with your self image, but it makes a hell of a difference when someone thanks you for it.
