I don't exactly have the opposite problem.
(Anonymous) 2014-08-14 02:54 am (UTC)(link)At this point, I've got several literal teenage girls whose tumblrs I read. I'm not trying to be a creeper or anything, that's just kind of who I met. I have this weird...avuncular? feeling about them. Not exactly parental, not a teacher, let's go with avuncular. Now and then I try to say, hey, don't do this stupid thing, I don't need one of my online friends getting herself killed--in a nice way.... But mostly I'm just kind of reading whatever it is they think is funny or that they are sad about.
I don't know how much of it is that I am in some way immature, and how much is that I don't have kids of my own.
That said, if I had to hang out in a fandom really obviously dominated by teenage girls more than occasionally, I'd probably quit it in short order.
