I kinda feel like you're conflating two different issues here? Like, a shipping problem and a kink problem. Because you can solve the OT3 problem by having the characters break up with each other, but that wouldn't give you the infidelity that you apparently have a kink for.

IDK. It just seems like you really mostly just want more infidelity-kink fic. Which is fine, although not my bucket of tea personally.

I thought OP was saying that infidelity squicks her, therefore she doesn't like OT3 fics which are becoming steadily more popular in fandom.

On the other hand, she DOES like incest stories which are reviled in many (most?) fandoms.

That's not what I got from it.

The statement is "Infidelity is worse than incest according to many in fandom. Apparently, my kink is not OK". I don't think that makes sense if your kink is incest, because why bother comparing it to infidelity in the first place? The only reason to say it that way is to compare your kink to something that's widely disliked and say it's EVEN MORE unpopular.

And secondly, I don't think of ot3 stories as infidelity stories, but I guess that's just my perspective.

Exactly. The point being that the OP's kink is infidelity, and fandom views it as "worse than incest" so apparently their kink is "not OK".

They're saying they'd prefer it if the go-to was infidelity INSTEAD OF OT3, because infidelity is their kink.

for a second I thought that was what they said, but OT3 =/= infidelity...I had to reread it
