What does having an OT3 have to do with infidelity or incest? I am kinda lost with this secret. I blame 5th graders. I may have better cognitive abilities today if it wasn't for them.

Translation: "Why is it that, when there's a love triangle dynamic in fic, people seem to prefer to resolve it with an OT3 than with infidelity? I kink on cheating, but nobody writes it! Even incest is seen as more okay than my infidelity kink!"

Thank you, anon. I love you. I love you so much. Name a gif and I will try to find it for you.

You're welcome! <3

Hm. How about... Natasha Romanov doing something awesome?

(Anonymous) 2014-08-15 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
That is indeed awesome! Thank you very much :D

I *think* what the secretmaker is describing a situation similar to the following:

A and B are in a relationship. B has a brother/sister, C. A/C is a common ship even though it involves infidelity on B's part. To solve this, people ship A/B/C as an OT3, and consider this the "everyone's happy!" way of handling the situation. However, secret maker doesn't like this because it requires an incestuous relationship between B and C. Secretmaker would rather people write straight up A/C because they have an infidelity kink(?)

SA. Er... I mean, "A/C is a common ship even though it involves infidelity on A's part." Sorry!

I think the incest thing was just a comparison point, not part of OP's actual love triangle dilemmas.

Ahh I see. So they're just saying "secret because my kink, infidelity, is one of the most reviled tropes, more so than even incest", and not that incest has anything to do with OT3ing.

Man, this secret is really confusing!

That's what I gathered from it.

I agree, it wasn't very well-written.

:o Thank you. Gotta agree with Poison on the incest though.
