This sounds like it's very much a Your Kink Is Not My Kink situation.

Your kink (infidelity?) is not popular. Threesomes and incest are more popular than your kink. I feel sad for you that you have trouble finding fic with your kink in it.


Personally? I ship threesomes... when I see three characters I think would go together well. It is not a shortcut to avoid infidelity for me (even though I am not fond of infidelity anyway and also dislike triangles that are going against the angle I support), because I want three specific characters in a bed together.
Sometimes however it is a case of me thinking "I like A/B! I like B/C too! I want A/B/C!", but I have to think A/C will also work to go with A/B/C.

(I recently picked up an OT3 in Dragon Age that is a case of putting together A/B and B/C.)
