I guess I totally fucked this up... what I meant was every time I suggest infidelity on a kink meme or when I'm talking with friends, I get told that shipping OT3 is what I really want. Don't I know threesomes solve everything? Well, it's just not my kink, and being told I should have it because my other kink isn't as acceptable fucking blows. The incest thing was for comparison, there's no incest involved in the OT3 or otherwise. Thanks to everyone who managed to puzzle out what I actually meant by this, lol.

Well, that makes more sense. And is also really weird. Like you said, when somebody suggests incest, nobody comes rolling in going "no, what you really want is an AU where they aren't related!" Like, way to miss the point.

I like some OT3s and can't stand infidelity, but I would never suggest an OT3 to someone who wanted infidelity, since it's kind of the opposite of what they would want. I might suggest an OT3 A/B/C for someone who was complaining about how some writers vilify/bash/kill B who is in a relationship with A to get them together with C. Or in response to someone who didn't want infidelity.

I mean, I'm totally that person that thinks "why the stupid fucking love triangle, just have an ot3!" But I would never suggest that to someone looking for infertility kink. It makes no sense. I want ot3 BECAUSE it avoids infidelity, and I would imagine you feel similarly!

That definitely clears it up. It always sucks when you ask for something specific and it gets taken in the opposite direction. I've had the exact opposite problem (which is why I stopped going to certain kink memes) where I WANTED OT3 stuff but got infidelity instead. :\ Maybe we should trade fandoms. lol

That sucks, OP. Personally I adore OT3s and infidelity squicks me, but I would never try to tell someone what they should enjoy. I'm sorry you can't find more of what you want to read. :(
