Hmmm. I'm not too sure about this. I've met my share of people who put on a friendly, polite face at work, but have been some of the nastiest people you'll ever meet after their shift ends. One of which turned out to have sexually assaulted a woman, while another turned out to admit to (several times) trying to get some of her coworkers fired. Likewise, I've met some quiet folk who seem a bit awkward, but are really nice when I got a chance to chat with them.

This isn't even going into people who might have a bad day or had something devastating happen in their life that might make them less chipper than usual.
